WPX Hosting Review for Small Business

Last updated: June 2026 Β· 8 min read
If you’ve been searching for managed WordPress hosting, you’ve probably run into WPX. It’s one of those hosts that shows up in every “fastest WordPress hosting” roundup β and for good reason. But is it still worth paying a premium for in 2026?
I’ve been recommending hosting to clients since 2016. Here’s my honest take.
What Is WPX Hosting?
WPX was founded in 2013 in Sofia, Bulgaria by Terry Kyle and Georgi Petrov β two people who were simply fed up with slow, unreliable WordPress hosting. Their pitch is straightforward: the fastest managed WordPress hosting, with real human support that responds in under 30 seconds.
They offer two products: WordPress Hosting and WooCommerce Hosting. Both come fully managed β meaning WPX handles security, updates, caching, and CDN so you don’t have to.
Plans and Pricing
WPX offers three tiers:
| Plan | Sites | Storage | Price/month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 10 GB | ~$11.99 |
| Business | 5 | 20 GB | ~$19.99 |
| Professional | 15 | 40 GB | ~$39.99 |
The key thing to know: all premium features are included on every plan. You don’t have to upgrade just to get CDN, daily backups, or SSL. That’s rare in this industry.

What I Like About WPX
1. Speed β genuinely fast
WPX built their own CDN (called WPX Cloud) and it’s included for free. You can choose your data center: US, UK, or Australia. For US-based small business clients β like the local service companies I work with β this makes a noticeable difference in load times.
In my experience migrating client sites to WPX, load times routinely dropped from 4β5 seconds to under 2 seconds. That matters for SEO and for keeping visitors on the page.
2. Support that actually responds
Their average support response time is around 30 seconds via live chat. I’ve tested this. It’s not 30 seconds every time, but it’s consistently faster than any other host I’ve used. For a developer managing multiple client sites, this alone saves hours.
3. Daily backups β 28 days retention
You get automatic daily backups stored for 28 days, with one-click restore. For client sites, this is a non-negotiable safety net. WPX includes it on all plans.
4. Free migrations
WPX migrates your site for free. The process is handled by their team, not an automated script. I’ve seen other hosts botch migrations β WPX’s manual approach is more reliable.
5. 99.95% uptime guarantee (they exceed it)
In independent testing, WPX has consistently hit 99.99%+ uptime. For business websites where downtime means lost calls or orders, this matters.
What to Be Aware Of
Price
Price WPX is not cheap. At $11.99/month (5-year plan) or $17.99/month on a monthly basis, it’s significantly more expensive than shared hosting. If you’re running a hobby blog or just getting started, it may be overkill.
But if you’re running a business website β especially a local service business where every missed call costs money β the performance and reliability justify the cost.
No cPanel
WPX uses their own custom control panel instead of cPanel. It’s cleaner and easier to use in most ways, but if you’re used to cPanel it takes a few minutes to get oriented.
Who Is WPX Best For?
WPX is a strong fit if you:
- Run a small business website or WooCommerce store
- Are tired of slow load times hurting your Google rankings
- Want fast, real human support without hunting through documentation
- Manage multiple client sites (the Professional plan at 15 sites is solid value)
It’s not the right fit if you’re on a very tight budget or running a simple static site that doesn’t need managed hosting.
My Verdict
WPX does what it promises: fast hosting, fast support, and a no-fuss experience. In 2026, with Google’s Core Web Vitals still influencing rankings, site speed is more important than ever β and WPX makes it easy to hit good scores without digging into server configuration.
For local business websites and WooCommerce stores, I recommend it without hesitation.
